GR Forum Rules

These are the RuneScape Realm Forum Rules. If you see someone breaking one, please send a PM to a Moderator including the Forum/Topic/Person. Abusing this can lead to yourself being in trouble.

The number one rule of RSR is respect! Anyone being disrespectful will be disciplined, up to and including IP (your computer’s permanent address) banning from the site. We demand people treat each other respectfully while using these forums. If you cannot do that you will not be welcome here!


1. Post on the correct board: Descriptions of all the boards can be found on the main index page to the forum.

2. No Double posting: Posting more than once in a row is not allowed.

3. No spamming: Nothing less than sentence size responses are allowed. This includes games that require only a couple words to make a post. This also includes posts with no substance in them. Make the post mean something to the topic. If you see a post containing spam or scamming, do not say, “This is spam!!” That is just adding more spam. Instead send a PM to a Mod if it is severe spamming. Congratulating somebody is allowed, but not in excess such as some people have done before. Punishment will be given determined by the severity of the spamming. Use your common sense when posting. Any spam found outside of the spam forum will be deleted and the thread creator will be issued a 1 day ban.

A = Annoying
M = Messages

4. No flaming: Swearing, cussing, bad mouthing, profanity etc. will not be tolerated. No use of profanity that is changed by adding a letter to the word just so it gets by the censors on these boards. This also includes insulting Jagex because of something you did. Calling Jagex names, or insulting them in any way will result in an infraction. Flaming found in the spam forum will be dealt with more harshly. Any flaming found in the spam forum will be issued an immediate 2 day ban.

5. No begging: Begging is not allowed on these forums. Even if you were hacked, which is a shame, is still not allowed. Any such form of begging will be dealt with immediate deletion and a user note if not a temporary ban.

6. No Caps: Putting CAPS in the topic title will results in immediate locking of the topic and a warning for the users who created it. Typing in all caps is also not allowed. If you start typing and notice you are typing in all caps, click on that caps lock button to the left on your keyboard. Typing in all caps is considered shouting and is not proper etiquette, not to mention it is harder to read.

7. Forbidden Topics:

Any of these found in the spam forum will be deleted and the thread creator will be issued a 7 day ban immediately without question.
a. No listings of cheat/hack/keylogger sites - The posters of these sites will be banned without any discussions.
b. No posting virus or keylogger related posts/links
c. No posting topics about racism, sexism, or any other -ism is allowed. Even if the topic is about saying the subject is wrong, it is not allowed. For it can result in flaming from the other side of the debate.

8. No posting of related topics in multiple boards: Any posts that are similar that are posted on numerous other forums are not allowed. Such as, "I'm quitting Runescape", "I hate Runescape", etc. Only one post is necessary under one board. Any double posts like this will be deleted.

9. Size restriction on Avatar and Signature Images: The maximum size for signatures is 700px width by 200px height with a total file size of 160KB . Spacing and line breaks do not matter as long as its not excessive. An extra 50px in height is allowed for text. The maximum size for avatars is 100px width by 100px height.

Admins and Moderators reserve the right to make final judgements on signature size. Anyone failing to follow this rule will have their signature removed and/or replaced by a signature by the staff.

10. DO NOT ask to be a mod or a part of any other user group: This includes mentioning that you would be good in that group, or you would like to be in it someday. Most of the time asking to be a mod or in any other group will result in the exclusion of that person from ever getting into that group.

11. Search First!: With the exception of the market place forums, do not post a new topic without first using the search feature! Searching for a topic and posting a reply is preferred over starting a new thread when possible. This keeps discussions about the same subject together and makes it easier for everyone to find them.

12. Don’t Accuse Cheaters: Please do not accuse members of cheating, hacking, scamming, stealing, plagiarizing, etc. unless you have proof to back it up. If one of the previous things was done on a different site, do not bring the problem here. What happens on your site is your business. Anyone accusing a member of one of these wrong-doings without the correct proof will get the topic locked as well as a user note.

13. No Word Stories: or other such games – 1, 2, 3, or 4, etc. word stories are allowed. These just promote more spam and many times people disregard what the rules on posting are. We do not allow these. Any topics like this will be locked immediately and new topics being made will be locked and you will receive an infraction. {Rule exception ONLY in the spam forum.

14. No RuneScape Account Transactions: No posts regarding buying/selling/sharing accounts or lending out an account for someone to work on your stats. This is breaking Runescape Rules and is not allowed here. Your account on Runescape can be BANNED for this type of behavior. Your Runescape Realm account will also be permanently banned for this.

15. No Multiple Accounts: Multiple RSR forum accounts are not allowed. You may only have one RSR forum account per person unless you have permission from the Admins of the site. We track IP's so we know for the most part when people do this. We realize there are homes with multiple users and we will make sure we do not restrict homes with multiple people from each having an account, but we will figure it out eventually if you are trying to pull a fast one. Your account on RSR can be BANNED for this type of behaviour.

16. Follow Jagex's Rules: Jagex's Runescape rules are also to be followed here. Anyone violating the rules for Runescape will also be considered violating our rules and be susceptible to punishment for violating the rules. This includes the buying and selling of forum signatures!

17. Inappropriate Material: No posting any kind of material, graphic or otherwise, that may be found inappropriate or obscene to the RSR age range. Any of this found in the spam forum will result in an immediate deleting of the topic and a 3 day ban issued to the thread creator.

18. Plagiarism is strictly forbidden: here and is throughout the entire internet and United States (along with almost all other countries). Copying somebody else’s guide whether from another site or this site and claiming as your own will result in a user note if not a ban.

19. Moderating Other Members: is not in any way allowed. This includes saying that a certain person deserves a warning, or acting more superior to other members. If you wish to help out, or report someone, simply private message a moderator telling him/her what is wrong, and a link to that topic. DO NOT go on that topic and say they are breaking a rule. For you will receive punishment as well as the original offender.

20. Do not make topics about certain people: This includes bragging about certain high level or rich people. As well as calling someone out for whatever reason there is. Any topics like this will be locked immediately and an infraction may be issued. Social groups about other people are not allowed. Whether you use play on words or completely announce it, any groups of this nature will be deleted and the creator will be issued a 7 day ban.

21. Common Sense: You must use your brain; common sense may be applied to any other rule or event on RSR. Also use common sense to show respect. You should show respect to others, as well as the moderators.

22. You are responsible for your IP: Whatever happens on your IP is your responsibility. Should you have siblings or family members using your computer and they do something, it is your responsibility. By following this rule, you have a right to an appeal should a ban be issued to your IP or account due to a wrong-doing on that IP. Should you go publicly with the issue and create more of a problem, your chance for an appeal shall be removed, and you lose all chances of returning to RSR. Anyone participating in an unsanctioned (unapproved by a Mod/Admin) appeal will also receive a punishment consisting of a user note or a temporary ban.

23. Advertising Sites: Advertising other sites is not allowed on our forums. This is includes making topics and linking to the site in your post. The only exception is a clan site in the clan forums, or any other site that is relevant to the topic. You may link to other websites in your signature as long as the website you're linking to doesn't not violate any of our rules (eg. inappropriate material).

24. No picture, no proof: Implying anything, whether minor or not such as a kill, random event, etc. without a picture as proof is not allowed. Anyone could simply make it up for the sake of posting if there is no proof. If you don't know how to take a picture, click here.

25. Necromancing: Bringing back old, dated topics that have not been active for over a month is not allowed unless:

a. The topic is still relevent
b. The topic has discussion value
c. The original poster is still an active member (only applies for signature shops etc.)

26. Posing: Creating an account nearly exactly like someone else's account for any purpose. Creating an account similar to the name of another account is also not allowed. Ex. Duke Atreide0 was created as a poser of Duke Atreide. Should you see someone like this, report it to a Mod immediately. Also, be aware of them. Know who the Mods are and how you can tell the difference. Any accounts caught like this will be banned.

27. False Links: Using false links for the sole purpose of scaring people and tricking them to go somewhere they don't want to go is against the rules. People found doing this will receive an infraction.

28. English Only: Please post in normal English. If you wish to post in another language, you must supply an English translation. Leet-speak and other forms of purposeful miss-spellings of words and misuse of grammar are also not allowed. This leads to not being able to read posts and misinterpretation.

29. Mod/Admin Say is Final: If a Mod/Admin says, don't do it, it means, don't do it. If they say stop, you better stop. What the Mod/Admin says is final. Arguing against a Mod/Admin's decision will result in an infraction. Topics, social groups, or continued argument about a decision made by a mod or admin that is publicly viewed, will result in punishments towards the thread creator.

30. Read the Forum Stickies: The forum Stickies are topics located at the top of most forums. These contain important information and should be read before posting in that forum.
