Compressed Anti-hack, Useful Links, Scams, and What to do's
This is a compressed version of all the anti-hack/useful info type guides, and I made it as such to save space and to reduce clutter
If you want me to add or change anything, pm me with your altered version and ill put it in ok? However the short and simple version is to use common sense. Install Firefox - proven to be more secure, install anti-virus software, and install a firewall. Also, if any of you EBAY MONEY OR BOTTING PROGRAMS ON THE INTERNET, WHICH YOU SHOULD NEVER DO, dont ever ebay a botting program cause chances are its either netbus, or subseven. netbus and subseven are 2 trojan horse programs commonly used to hack computers and upload a keylog to them. I AM NOT going to post the programs them selves but here are a list of commands for them: Open CD-ROM dive Close CD-ROM drive Show images Swap mouse bottons Run programs Send messages Screendump(see whats on there screen) Get computers info Regedit Play run sounds Shut down computers Active windows Control mouse Keylogger(see what there typing on there keyboard) and of course File manager these are LITERALLY commands listed on this thing once you download the .exe file, they can do to you. to put it in simple terms, the satellite of the programs. Now, if you are downloading a netbus(the program they use to hack your computer) executable file, then the icon will be a satellite, which is appropriate for what it does. It creates a link between the hacker, and his victim. Now the only thing he has to do now is find your IP adress which really isn't hard at all with the MS-DOS:CMD: NETSTAT -N. There fore they can do whatever they want with your computer..aftr they have your runescape account, if you use paypal frequently ALL the information they need to buy things on the internet, and anything personal you might have. subseven subseven is practically the same, but it isn't for just the scriptkiddes(noobs to hacking) its a much more advanced program. Its way more advanced, it will email all the keylogs to the hackers computer when something they have preprogramed in is typed (for instance: runescape.com) then again, they can only do that if you download the executable file! only! so don't!! i repeat ! dont ever download something from someone you know in rune scape only that is a file. no matter how well you think you may know them. In a hackers mind everyone is merely an item. here are a list of commands for the dreaded subseven2.1.3 Ip scanner Computer info Home info server setup keylogger send keys chat with victim THE MATRIX.... :-) (it will fill the computer screen with the numbers on the matrix.) does.... Spy (spy on convos) iCq TAKE OVER! password reciver REDEDIT App processer file manager windows manager process manager webcam spy and LOADS more now i repeat again, there is another thing about the .exe file. THE ICON FOR THE .EXE FILE WHICH WILL CONTROL YOUR COMPUTER CAN BE CHANGED TO WHATEVER THEY WANT! For example lets say you two are talking about monster trucks. He could change the icon on the .exe to fool you into downloading it. he could change it into a monster truck to fool you. oh ye, i dont got any respect for these sad excuses of hackers, cause they make the real ones look like bad. THese guys are not hackers, they are what i like to call(and everyother hacker) a script kiddy. still working on getting a guide to removing htem <a name="c2">Posted by: Sickmate What to do when hacked.</a> i posted this ages ago, but now ill post it again. if you get hacked, to recover your account just do what it says below. Just follow these steps. 1. Goto the password support link on the home page of www.runescape.com 2. Click on "password support", and then click it again on the page that comes up, and enter your username and your email. Then select "someone else has changed my password" from the drop down menu. Click submit. 3. Enter "I don't know" as an answer for all the password recovery questions. 4. Enter the first password used on the account, and ALL of the previous passwords below that. (thats the most important part) 5. Enter your post-code, and when you previously last logged in (if you don't know when you last logged in, leave it blank) 6. Enter the password that you want it to be changed to. 7. In the "other information" box at the bottom, enter what is in bold below, and fill in the bits with the brackets. (e.g. (city) - put which city you live in.) I am (first and last name) and live in (city), (state), (country). I have been hacked and they changed my password and my recovery questions. Now i cant log back in!!! 8. If you want, put in "And i was just about to become a member, too" because that can help as well. 9. Click send. On every RuneScape community, accross the expansive world that is the Internet. Unfortunately, every day someone accesses someone else's account without permission. So, in an attempt for sympathy, one player decided to say he was "hacked", and I guess it caught on. Let me explain to you... as much as Jagex is a backwater company (my honest opinion), they do attempt to make their game secure. Well, it seems to work. But for most people, they don't realise that. So, if you log on to find that your bank is empty, and you say to yourself "AH! I GOT HACKED!", take a better think. Only someone with large amounts of skill can "hack" into RuneScape, and the only people that have this skill wouldn't waste their time on a relatively small MMORPG. So, around nine-tenths of the time, you were not hacked. But still, someone got to your account. "How could this be?", you say. This could be from a number of reasons. a) You had a simple password that could be easily guessed. b) You had a keylogger on your PC (or Mac). How one got onto your machine could be any number of reasons, from poor security to utter stupidity. c) You actually were hacked, as in someone broke into the database, stole your password and hijacked your password. Remember, next time you post a topic saying "I was hacked", that it most likely was your own fault.

I would like to add something to this topic.
No, You Did NOT get Hacked First of all, getting scammed or keylogged is NOT the same as being hacked. There are really only two ways to get hacked. 1) Bruteforcing (good luck). 2) Stealing the information from the server (good luck). Bruteforcing is a time-consuming and near-impossible process. I couldn't find the time consumption table in my old lecture notes, but let me assure you that an alphanumeric (containing both letters and numbers) password of a length of more than seven (I think it's seven...) would take several YEARS to brute force. I believe 16 takes a million or more YEARS. And this is with the best computer in the world running the search algorithm 24/7. Stealing the information from the server? That doesn't help at all. First of all, good luck actually getting access to the records on the server. Second, all (if not most) companies in the world know about encryption and use it. When you send your username and password to the server for the first time, it is encrypted, THEN stored. So, typing: Username: Joe Password: JoeRox21 Could potentially end up on the server as: Username: 1am38xgv03cwj Password: 9d72l5x7hfa2jfs And here's the best part. That information does not help the person who obtained it at all. If you type that in for the username and password, it will use the encryption algorithm to change THAT into another encrypted alphanumeric username and password, which would not match any on the server. So you people say "I was hacked! He told me to drop my items and type /map 00!" Or some crap like that. How is that a hack? That's your own ignorance. Admit it. You fell for a really stupid trick. Others say "I was hacked! I downloaded this program and it had a keylogger!" While getting closer, you still were not hacked. Someone just tricked you in a more technical way. Finally, you might say "I was hacked! My friend who I thought I could trust stole my account!" And then I laugh at you. How is this even remotely close to being hacked? You essentially gave your account away. Your own fault. Being scammed is easy. Here's how you do it: Lose all notion of common sense. There's someone claiming that they are a GM and they need your password? Don't you read the RS Tips? There's one that always comes up that clearly says "The GMs will never ask for your password or any other form of personal information." Being keylogged is slightly worse. To avoid it, you have to know a few things about computers. I can't find the link to the thread we have about this, so I can just give a brief overview. Don't click any EXE links in any thread on this website. Even if it's cleared by someone. You don't need whatever's in the EXE anyway. Don't open ZIP files either. Or RAR for that matter. No offence to sporkspear but a keylogger hacks u and it isn't hard to hack some1!! All u do is send them a keylogger or something like that, or get their ip and hack their computer!! Or hack jagex

Wow, I've been through so many scams, and I've generated a wealth of what to not do to get scammed. (hell, most of my friends are scammers) And I can't think of a single thing I can add to. Good job with the comprehensive list fellas.
Also, I concur whole-heartedly on the "IT'S NOT HACKING" account. I get so tired of hearing kids come up and ask for freebies becasue they were "Hacked" It really makes you want to reach into the computer and smack them up. |
